Stem Cells and Human Development
Stem cells have tremendous potential for treating disease and replacing or regenerating the diseased tissue. Stem cells have enormous potential in health and medical research but to fully harness this potential, scientists are studying how stem cells transform, or differentiate, into the diverse range of specialized cells that make humans what they are today.
Century pharmaceuticals ltd Biotechnology Research Division started the stem cell research in the year 2014 knowing the study of stem cells is one of the most exciting areas of contemporary biomedical research and believed that Stem Cell Research & Therapy will act as a highly active forum for both basic and translational research into stem cell biology and therapies.
Stem cells have enormous potential for alleviating suffering for many diseases which currently have no effective therapy. Our research has progressed to the preclinical evaluation and it is important that this pathway leading an excellent science and rigorous standards of clinical research to treat age related degenerative and terminal patients.

The most exciting use of stem cells rests on their ability to differentiate into an enormous range of healthy functioning adult cells, thereby providing a replacement source of cells to treat serious diseases possibly. This ultimately means that virtually any disease that result in cellular and tissue destruction.

Endometrial regeneration using autologous adult stem cells in a patient of severe Asherman’s syndrome – Research attempt
From adult autologous stem cells isolated from patient,s own and endometrial angiogenic stem cells are being separated using immunomagnetic isolation. These cells will be placed in the endometrial cavity under ultrasound guidance. Patient was then given cyclical hormonal therapy. Endometrium was assessed intermittently on ultrasound. On development of endometrium with a thickness of 8 mm and good vascularity, in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer can be done. This research may result in positive biochemical pregnancy followed by confirmation of gestational sac, yolk sac, and embryonic pole with cardiac activity on ultrasound. Endometrial angiogenic stem cells isolated from autologous adult stem cells could regenerate injured endometrium not responding to conventional treatment for Asherman’s syndrome. The research have been conducted with the co operation of Isha hospital under the guidance of Dr. Shilpi Shukla. Thus the stem cells can be used in the treatment of infertility.

Recombinant protein is a protein that whose code is carried by a recombinant DNA. The genetically modified bacteria will make protein based on this recombinant DNA. This Recombinant protein are being to treat various diseases. Century has adapted one such technology to treat Asthma and allergy .

Calcitriol
Vitamin D, as either D3 or D2, does not have significant biological activity. Rather, it must be metabolized within the body to the hormonally-active form known as 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol. Bioactive vitamin D or Calcitriol is a steroid hormone that has long been known for its important role in regulating body levels of calcium and phosphorus, and in mineralization of bone. We make the calcitriol through Bioconversion method.
Serratiopeptidase
Serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme with anti-inflammatory activity is widely used in many inflammatory conditions like arthritis, post operative inflammation, dental treatment etc. Serratiopeptidase improves microcirculation and reduces pain by blocking the release of pain inducing amines from inflamed tissues. Increasing importance of serratiopeptidase as a potential anti-inflammatory agent has motivated us produce API to use it in combination with conventional medicines.
